About Us

On South Main Street in Myrtle Creek, Lodge #1943 has been doing the quiet, steady work that holds a small town together. Members show up for initiations, community fundraisers, and Friday night dinners, and they make newcomers feel like they belong before the evening is over. That reputation for warmth is not an accident. It is something this lodge has built, one handshake at a time, across decades of service to Douglas County.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is one of America's oldest fraternal organizations, and Lodge #1943 carries that legacy with pride. Past members have helped neighbors cover the cost of eyeglasses, school supplies, and emergency needs when no other door was open. That spirit of practical, no-fuss generosity is what sets this lodge apart from a social club.

Visitors regularly note how quickly they feel at home here. Oregon Elks leadership has stopped in and walked away impressed. Whether you are a longtime member or someone who just moved to the Myrtle Creek area, you will find an open seat and a warm plate waiting.

What We Offer

Lodge #1943 offers members a full calendar of activities rooted in fellowship and community impact. Regular lodge meetings keep members connected and informed, while initiation ceremonies welcome new Elks with the dignity and tradition the order is known for. Dinner is often served after meetings, and the kitchen does not disappoint.

Beyond the meeting room, the lodge runs charitable programs that put real money and real hours into the community. Veterans assistance, youth scholarships, vision care support, and local emergency aid are among the causes members have championed over the years. The lodge also hosts social events open to members and their guests, giving the community a gathering place that is genuinely theirs.

Membership in Elks Lodge #1943 means access to a national network of over 850,000 members, reciprocal lodge privileges when you travel, and the satisfaction of belonging to something that does more than meet once a month.
